Topic  What options do I have?????
I live in North Carolina and I have a single wide trailer. I have been renting it to a man on a monthly agreement with nothing in writing. He has started drinking more now and I just want him gone. How can I go about getting him out? He is usually a week or two late on rent each month and his dog has damaged the bathroom inside. Is this enough to get him evicted?
Thanks

Check with the laws in your state. In MD, you have to give 30 or 60 days notice to vacate (depending on what county you're in).
In MD, what you are describing is called a "verbal lease". In MD, we are required to send, in writing, a notice to vacate/quit. We always send ours via cert'd mail.

In short, his drinking and his dog damaging the bathroom would not be enough in MD to get him evicted (which is the only state laws I kno). I d google, "legal aid" or "legal advice" for North Carolina, and see it it refers you to any resources. (we have some in MD-but again, won't help you in NC)

Hope this helps!
