Topic  Landlord Refuses to Repair/Replace Dangerous Furnace
I have a 27 year old gas furnace that intermittently ignites with an explosion. There have been 4 attempts in the last year to repair it without success. Now the apartment management ignores my requests for resolution. This is obviously a dangerous situation. Neither will the apartment management release me from my lease so that I may relocate to a safer home.

Surely there must be something that I can do about this. Where do I start? Thanks for anyone who chooses to give any advice.

bring your lease to your local police department and tell them there are unsafe conditions in your apartment through no fault of your own that your landlord refuses to repair, they will know how to help you.

You could also try to google "legal aid" and "legal advice" for your state. I know in MD, there are resources for getting information, as well as Pro Bono (i.e., "Free") legal representation.
Hope this helps.
